Wall mounted aquariums are both impressive and fun to have
If you have never seen wall mounted aquariums, you know how impressive they can be. Often these are used in a home or office to create a unique, visual impact. Wall mounted aquariums are just that, fish tanks mounted onto the walls, secured by the studs. People sometimes refer to them as portrait aquariums. They are generally quite narrow when compared to traditional fish tanks ranging in thickness of 4 to 6 inches. You can often find them in varying lengths but 18 inches seems to be popular.
Wall mounted aquariums are perfect for homes or areas with limited floor space. They make a great conversation piece and you don’t have to bend over to see the fish as they are at eye level most times. Most tanks have compact designs which include both the filter and lighting system.
Wall mounted aquariums are not good for creating a marine ecosystem. Their main purpose is often to create a unique visual experience rather than a complex array of aquarium life. Before installing one of these, be sure your wall and the studs can actually hold the weight of the tank. These tanks are not cheap and the last thing you want to have happen is for it to come crashing down.
