The most effective ways to control aquarium algae
Likely the worst part about caring and maintaining your fish tank is dealing with aquarium algae. You have gone out and spent a great deal on aquarium lighting, air pumps, filters, other aquarium supplies, including fish, now the question is how do you keep you tank looking good and free of aquarium algae build up.
There are 2 options for dealing with aquarium algae. One option is that you personally clean your aquarium using either algae pads or scrapers. If you keep you tank clean by doing it once a week, it is easy to handle the build up. If you let it go and leave it, it is very difficult to get rid of entirely. The other option to consider is to add algae eating fish or snails to your aquarium.
You may see aquarium algae killing chemicals advertise. One of the dangers of using chemicals in your aquarium is the harm they may bring to both plant and fish life. We recommend that you either clean the algae out yourself or by algae eating fish or snails to ensure your tank remains clean and a safe environment for your fish. One bad move with chemicals can cost you dearly so please be careful.
